Ajax TurretCam 5MP IP CCTV Camera 2.8mm – Black is a wired 5MP Ajax turret IP CCTV camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens, built-in AI object recognition, smart IR illumination and a microphone. It connects by Ethernet and can be powered using PoE or a suitable 12 V DC supply. Ajax AI distinguishes people, animals and vehicles, while footage can be stored on a compatible 32–256 GB microSD card or centrally on an Ajax NVR. Live view, archive access and video scenarios are managed through Ajax apps.

Built for general indoor or outdoor coverage with a compact adjustable camera body, Ajax TurretCam 5MP IP CCTV Camera 2.8mm – Black combines 5MP IP video with a fixed 2.8mm lens and Ajax AI analytics in a straightforward wired camera.
The fixed 2.8mm lens is suited to installations where the required field of view can be established at the mounting stage and does not need remote optical adjustment. That makes the camera a practical choice for general coverage without the additional complexity of a motorised varifocal lens. Ajax AI identifies moving people, animals and vehicles, helping users find and interpret relevant events more quickly.
Smart IR illumination automatically adjusts to low-light conditions to reduce overexposure of objects close to the camera while maintaining useful visibility further into the scene. The built-in microphone records audio alongside video, adding context when footage is reviewed after an event.
The camera connects to the network over Ethernet. Ajax supports PoE or a suitable 12 V DC supply, so power can either share the network cable through compatible PoE equipment or be provided separately. Recording can be local on a compatible 32–256 GB microSD card or centralised on an Ajax NVR, while live view, archive navigation and video scenarios are available through Ajax apps.
Choosing the right Ajax model
The 5MP version is a balanced option for general CCTV coverage. It provides substantially more image detail than 1080p without the same recording and network demand as the equivalent 8MP model at comparable settings, which can make it a sensible choice for multi-camera installations where storage efficiency also matters.
This fixed-lens range is best suited to positions where the required field of view can be decided during installation. The 2.8mm lens provides a broad general-purpose view, so the camera works well for entrances, shop floors, offices, corridors and external areas where remote optical adjustment is unnecessary. If the scene needs colour illumination at night, the HL version is the more appropriate step up; if the framing must remain adjustable after mounting, choose HLVF instead.
