Description
Ajax NVR 8-Channel Network Video Recorder – Black is an Ajax 8-channel network video recorder designed to centralise recording, live view, archive access and video alarm verification.
The recorder supports Ajax video devices and can also integrate compatible third-party IP cameras. ONVIF and RTSP support make it possible to bring suitable non-Ajax cameras into the wider system, while Ajax apps provide the interface for live viewing, archive navigation and alarm-linked video verification.
A compatible HDD or SSD is required when the recorder is being used for archive storage and is not included as standard. Ajax supports storage devices up to 16 TB on the standard NVR family. Without a drive, the NVR can still be used for live-view integration and video functions that do not require a local archive.
Choose the 8-channel version with both the current camera count and reasonable future expansion in mind. Leaving spare channels can make later system growth much simpler than replacing the recorder once all inputs are occupied. The NVR connects to the network over Ethernet and is intended to act as the central video component of an Ajax security space.
Choosing the right Ajax model
Channel count should be chosen with future expansion in mind. A 8-channel NVR can manage up to 8 camera streams, but specifying some spare capacity can be much cheaper and simpler than replacing the recorder when the system grows.
The standard NVR is the straightforward Ajax recording option when local HDMI viewing and integrated PoE are not required. Cameras connect over the network, while compatible ONVIF/RTSP devices can sit alongside Ajax cameras in the same video environment.
