Designed for higher-specification professional CCTV projects, Ajax Superior BulletCam HLVF 4K 8MP Hybrid Light P-Iris Varifocal CCTV Camera – Black combines 8MP video with a motorised 2.8–12 mm P-Iris lens, hybrid lighting and deeper audio/alarm integration.
The 2.8–12 mm motorised lens allows remote zoom and focus so the final framing can be set accurately after the camera is installed. P-Iris automatically manages the lens aperture to help maintain sharpness and balanced brightness as lighting changes, giving the Superior HLVF range more optical control than a conventional varifocal camera.
Hybrid illumination combines infrared and white light for adaptable night-time surveillance, while True WDR supports scenes with difficult contrast. Ajax AI recognises people, animals and vehicles. Built-in microphones and speaker provide two-way audio, and separate audio and alarm inputs/outputs allow the camera to interact with a wider professional security installation.
The camera connects over Ethernet and supports PoE or 12 V DC power. Recordings can be stored locally on microSD or centrally on an Ajax NVR, with live view and archive access through Ajax apps. Ajax states that Superior products may only be sold, installed and maintained by accredited Ajax Systems partners, so these cameras are intended for professionally designed and commissioned projects.
Choosing the right Ajax model
As the 8MP version, this model records at 4K resolution and is the higher-detail option within its family. The additional pixel count is most useful where footage may need closer inspection after an event, or where one camera covers a relatively broad scene and retaining fine detail across that scene matters.
Superior HLVF is intended for professional projects that need more than remote varifocal adjustment. The 2.8–12 mm P-Iris lens provides remote zoom and focus while automatically controlling aperture for consistent sharpness and brightness as lighting changes. Built-in microphones and speaker add two-way audio, and dedicated audio/alarm inputs and outputs allow the camera to integrate with a wider security design.
