Ajax BulletCam HLVF 4K 8MP Hybrid Light Varifocal CCTV Camera – White is a 8MP Ajax bullet IP CCTV camera with hybrid illumination and a motorised varifocal lens for remote adjustment of framing. Built-in AI recognises people, animals and vehicles, while the microphone and dedicated audio/alarm inputs and outputs support wider system integration. For installations that need more control over framing, Ajax BulletCam HLVF 4K 8MP Hybrid Light Varifocal CCTV Camera – White combines 8MP Ajax IP video with hybrid light, AI analytics and a motorised varifocal lens.
The varifocal lens allows the installer to adjust focal length and magnification remotely rather than committing to a single fixed viewing angle. This is useful where the final scene can only be judged once the camera is mounted, or where the balance between a wide overview and tighter identification detail needs to be refined during commissioning.
HLVF means Hybrid Light Varifocal. The hybrid illumination system combines infrared and white light for more flexible night monitoring, while built-in AI recognises people, animals and vehicles. A built-in microphone records audio, and dedicated audio and alarm inputs/outputs provide additional options for integration with other security equipment.
The camera is designed for a wired Ethernet installation and can form part of an Ajax NVR-based CCTV system or use compatible microSD storage for local recording. Live view and archived footage are available through Ajax apps. Compared with the fixed-lens HL range, HLVF is the better choice when camera placement is constrained or the exact field of view needs to remain adjustable.
Choosing the right Ajax model
As the 8MP version, this model records at 4K resolution and is the higher-detail option within its family. The additional pixel count is most useful where footage may need closer inspection after an event, or where one camera covers a relatively broad scene and retaining fine detail across that scene matters.
HLVF combines Hybrid Light with a varifocal lens. The practical advantage is that the installer is not locked into one fixed field of view: focal distance and magnification can be adjusted after the camera is mounted, making it easier to balance a wide overview against tighter identification detail. This is particularly useful where the mounting position is constrained or the final scene can only be judged properly during commissioning.
